All the Perfumes of Arabia

I keep typing things and erasing them because it sounds complainy. Not that I'm complaining-averse, you understand, I just usually save it for Surly Thursday

Last Tuesday I had to get a filling replaced on my right back molar, which meant my head was bent in the exact wrong direction - well, right direction to maximally aggravate my neck pain. Yesterday I had an ultrasound on my left breast (it's fine), which meant I had to bend my left arm behind my head for five or ten minutes, which was likewise really crappy for my neck. I then realized that I had booked my flu and covid shots for next Tuesday (maybe I should change it to Surly Tuesday). I've been adding every single thing to my calendar because I can't keep a thought in my head lately. but unfortunately I only added the date and time, not the location. I finally figured out where it was supposed to be, and then realized I didn't actually have to go next Tuesday, thus ensuring that I would feel crappy on Wednesday - my longest work day -  for the third week in a row. So I changed the appointment to Thursday. And then I realized I had made it for an unnecessarily far location (honestly, it's fifty-fifty me being an airhead and the system being unnecessarily complicated) and switched it for the third time - hopefully this one will take.

Eve texted me at about one a.m. saying she had finally gone to bed early and was having insomnia, which sucked. I saw it when Lucy woke me up at three and I couldn't get back to sleep, which also sucked. Near the end of my morning school shift I texted her that I was having a bit of a crappy day and had just ordered myself a Nightmare Before Christmas bralette on my break, and she texted back "you're perfect", which did not suck.

I am way behind on Tiny Secret Festive Season, because Nicole went to Italy instead of reminding me, THANKS NICOLE (jk, love you, never change). Also my husband keeps fleeing the jurisdiction and I am very tired, so I probably would be behind anyway. The only thing I've accomplished is powder room soap, It is Pecksniff's Peppermint Snow and Vanilla, and it does not smell like peppermint or snow or vanilla, quite, but like some magical not-quite combination of all three, and I have been washing my hands even more than usual, which is already probably a little too often.

This enchanting new soap replaced the not-quite-empty Meyer's Fall Leaves soap I got at Target in October. I was trying to use it up even though I didn't really like the way it smelled. When I thought about it, though, I think it actually did smell just like fall leaves. So what was I expecting? I think I was expecting some kind of Target-scent-lab manufactured Platonic IDEAL of fall leaves, not ACTUAL fall leaves, complete with that hint of rot. Oh well, one out of two ain't bad.

Okay, I'm trying to think of a pithy way to wrap this up but I'm sleepy and keep getting distracted by my delicious-smelling hands. Peace out.

LOL on the festive season soaps. I'm glad that your exams have come out well, and I agree, why make yourself feel worse by having a vaccine the day before your busiest day? I'm going to get mine on Friday I think. But I don't double up, since my husband felt like absolute crap when he did that last year.

Sorry to hear that you are so tired, but the story of the autumn leaves soap is funny. Hope you'll feel better soon!

This post was *chef's kiss*. I think it's so helpful when blogger's are authentic and I'm sure we can all relate to a crummy week like this. You had a lot of unpleasant stuff tacked together (minus Lucy and Eve's sweet text of course). Hope the neck is feeling better by now?
Hooray for good-smelling soap. I'm intrigued and might have to hunt a bottle down!

I'm sorry, I'm just so distracted by the idea of a soap company named Pecksniff that nothing else is registering! Seriously? Why did they name it that?

I hope your aches and pains are better soon. Shortly after the election, the pain in my back from when I fell in September returned in exactly the same place. It only lasted a few days this time. I'm guessing my body was just very tense and that it was aggravating the maybe not 100% healed injury. Pain sucks.

If you cannot complain endlessly on your own blog, where can you? IT IS WHY I BLOG. Don't delete on our account.

Glad there's nothing to report on the health front!
I really, really love Eve (or your relationship with Eve). Perhaps there needs to be an "All about Eve" post?

TINY SECRET FESTIVE SEASON!!!! Actually, now we are past Remembrance Day so I guess we are full-on festive. When Jake picked us up at the airport, he was like "I know it's Tiny Secret Festive Season but I couldn't find your Christmas tea towels." Lol. They are in the cupboard with all the kitchen linens.
I once came into possession of Pumpkin Spice Hand Sanitizer. It was the worst smelling hand sanitizer ever. .... Now that it is Nov 14 I see that I am justified in feeling surly because it is Surly Thursday. (I have alternated between disgust, despair, and surliness since Nov 6th, thankyouverymuch.)
The scented fall leave soup...
That is funny. I only us the same scent all the time.
Also I had to google "Nightmare Before Christmas bralette". Getting your self a gift is a move.
