Conflicted

It's December twelfth and today I went out wearing a t-shirt. First I was wearing a sweater, but then I got too hot. This is not right. It's December. We need snow. We have a Christmas tree and decorations up and it's dark at four-thirty ANYWAY, so I'm with the kids on this one -- we want snow.

Of course, the likelihood is that if it was gray and snowy I would be headachy and miserable, and if I had to shovel out the driveway to get the kids to school every day this week while I'm solo parenting, I would not be impressed. While instead, I got multiple Christmas and household errands done today and felt happy.

But it's almost Christmas and it's kind of sad to think we won't have a white one.

So I guess you could say I'm a little sad that I'm happy, but also a little happy that I'm sad.

And people wonder why I'm always so tired.

If you want snow, we've got plenty to spare. C'mon on over and help yourself!

We're six weeks into snow season, and I still love it. I'd much rather everything be white and pretty than beige and dusty. Mind you come April when everyone else is gardening and I'm still shovelling, I'll be pretty pissy.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm enjoying the warmer weather, but it also just seems odd to not have any snow yet. The kids are getting new sleds for Christmas...wonder when they'll actually be able to use them?

I have no conflict at all. It will be in the 70's all week where I live and I just want to say a lot of swear words.(and might have ; ) But for me, the snow is always whiter-or existant, on the other side.

I do like snow on the ground in the winter - if it's going to be cold it might as well be pretty - but there have been many brown Christmases here. Doesn't look like this will be one of them because we have a lot of snow. Solution: come live here!

Out here we've had the national high temperature almost every day for the last two weeks.

Our city's big new fancy shiny outdoor skating rink is supposed to be opening this week.

No idea how that is supposed to work.

I hate snow come about the end of January... but there is something so off-putting about a brownish grey Christmas. Unless it gets much colder I'll be able to have the windows open while I'm cooking the turkey. And that's just wrong.

Where was I? OH yeah. I have had exactly two white christmases and they were nice. I know what you mean. It's nice to have your Christmas match the cards, movies, songs, etc. Usually on the west coast it is foggy on Christmas.(except where Marilyn lives, because it is always sunny there).

I love it when it actually feels like Christmas with cold weather. But I live in the southern US. It's a 50/50 chance that it'll be below 60 degrees here.

I want to go tobogganning.

That is all.

I feel like I'm frittering winter away without any skiing and sliding.

But then again, there's still January, February, March and probably April. So. you know, eh?

I am not conflicted at all. Ever since East Coast blizzards of Feb '10, I'm traumatized by even the mention of snow. The kids had 2 weeks off school. TWO WEEKS. And then the school district decided not to make up the day. I am still bitter.

I want it to snow on Dec 23rd- big blanket, then melt away completely by Feb 28th. That would be perfect!
Ixnay on the owsnay...is that correct pig latin? I always get messed up. Any way. After our weekend snow fest in Calgary and realizing that my daughter will refuse to touch her feet to the ground if it's white, I'm okay with a green winter.
