The Easter Baby

We went to Edmonton for the week-end to visit my (fairly) brand spanking new nephew (no offense to my brother-in-law and his lovely wife and their quite appealing five-year-old, but let's be honest, the baby was the major draw). According to Sarah, he was undergoing a veritable 'cuteness explosion' before our very eyes, after three months and change of being gormless and unengaging and having a head that smelled like feet - I think she was just trying to make us feel less bad for not seeing him until now.

Oooh, three months IS a cuteness explosion, I think. Before that babies just seem sort of...wrinkly? I don't know but I do know that three months is a seriously cute time.

Extreme adorableness. You didn't "accidentally" bring him home, did you? If so, I'll be right over. ;-)

gormless is a wonderful word.

Adorable.

I'm not a fan of babies, particularly when they are baby babies. Better to see them when they can do stuff, like be cute.

Oh, what a cutie. I agree that 3 months is when cute baby optimization kicks in. The newborn acne is gone. Any birth-canal trauma has been reduced (ie the pug nose, the bruises). They're smiling. They no longer look like Winston Churchill.

You were in Edmonton? I was in Edmonton! Were you forced to hang out for 5 painful hours at West Edmonton Mall? Did you spend your entire time feeling gritty? Seriously: Edmonton needs to buy more street sweepers and cut back on their use of gravel.
