Wordless Wednesday: What were they made of?

Sugar and spice and everything nice:

Chocolate lava cake (well duh):

Crème brulé (no surprise there):

But also snips and (wait for it)...

Snails. Yeah, you heard me, SNAILS. My kids who won't eat spaghetti with sauce on it or tacos with salsa, were all over the snails. Of course Charlotte (my niece) was the trailblazer. I wonder how much my sister would charge for her to come live with us for a month. Either that or we have to live on a cruise ship. Anybody have a recipe for puppy dogs' tails?

My stepmom does Cat's Tongue! Or however you'd say it in French...she does a french chef program at schools & that's a famous old recipe for the most amazing cookies! But no puppy dog tails, sorry! My house is split...& you know what they say about a house split against itself lol. My 2 big kids will eat anything, my 2 little kids, not so much!

PS..I love that you always get me & the little witticisms I throw in to my posts...no one else ever seems to?? ;-))

Yum! I've tried the snails thing but I'd rather have scallops. Now chocolate Lava cake??? Bring it on!

That chocolate lava cake just made me drool a teensy bit. *drowning in drool*
I don't get esgargot. I've had it...on a cruise ship of course...but I completely did not understand the hoopla.

When my best friend and I were growing up, we'd get together and make pizza (Kraft from the box) and escargots, complete with garlic butter in the 70s dishes. Yum.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane!

My own daughter won't eat mashed potatoes, and she cried tonight because I put the sauce on her pasta and OF COURSE she wants them separate. But she loves, I mean LOVES, octopus sushi.

Children just make no sense AT ALL.

Mmmmm snails. And creme brulé. But not together. Once your niece has finished getting your kids to eat new things, please send her to my house. Or save us a cabin on that cruise ship. :)

Oh man, I missed dessert! I could do without the snails...unless of course, did they have chocolate on them?!

Good for them for being open minded! I love snails. My son does not like pizza (I know, he isn't human, right?) but loves mussels and sushi and frog legs. Kids are so cool.
