Conflicted
It's December twelfth and today I went out wearing a t-shirt. First I was wearing a sweater, but then I got too hot. This is not right. It's December. We need snow. We have a Christmas tree and decorations up and it's dark at four-thirty ANYWAY, so I'm with the kids on this one -- we want snow.
Of course, the likelihood is that if it was gray and snowy I would be headachy and miserable, and if I had to shovel out the driveway to get the kids to school every day this week while I'm solo parenting, I would not be impressed. While instead, I got multiple Christmas and household errands done today and felt happy.
But it's almost Christmas and it's kind of sad to think we won't have a white one.
So I guess you could say I'm a little sad that I'm happy, but also a little happy that I'm sad.
And people wonder why I'm always so tired.

We're six weeks into snow season, and I still love it. I'd much rather everything be white and pretty than beige and dusty. Mind you come April when everyone else is gardening and I'm still shovelling, I'll be pretty pissy.
Our city's big new fancy shiny outdoor skating rink is supposed to be opening this week.
No idea how that is supposed to work.
I hate snow come about the end of January... but there is something so off-putting about a brownish grey Christmas. Unless it gets much colder I'll be able to have the windows open while I'm cooking the turkey. And that's just wrong.
Where was I? OH yeah. I have had exactly two white christmases and they were nice. I know what you mean. It's nice to have your Christmas match the cards, movies, songs, etc. Usually on the west coast it is foggy on Christmas.(except where Marilyn lives, because it is always sunny there).
That is all.
I feel like I'm frittering winter away without any skiing and sliding.
But then again, there's still January, February, March and probably April. So. you know, eh?
