I can fully half-ass the dinners too! It makes it so much easier.
Is your spring break over or just beginning? My daughter's spring break is this week. I'm still working of course, but it makes life so much easier without getting her to school every day. And, yes- I stayed up way too late last night reading- it was a mystery and I ended up finishing it. Love the dress. Coach makes brussels sprouts in the air fryer and cooks them till they are black, but he acts like This Is Delish and we feel obligated to eat them even though they are barely edible. I am crazy about my hair dresser. Fortunately she manages to remember exactly how to do my hair. A few cuts ago she cut it shorter than I think she usually does, and I was geared up to hate it, but dang - best haircut I've ever had. She's so great that I'm tempted to pay her VERY HIGH rates just to sit and chat with her. Well, now I just sound lonely. ;)Erniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14976227572609917624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2102491209284064200.post-89838466752430874522024-03-17T13:39:45.684-07:002024-03-17T13:39:45.684-07:00"The ways in which I am weird are numerous an..."The ways in which I am weird are numerous and varied." Stylists have crappy days too, like the rest of us, but if you feel it's repeating and at the point where she's taking your business and your money for granted, maybe time for a rethink. You don't need to stay because of some hard loyalty you feel, not if you're consistently not happy. The history would allow for one or two bad visits, but that's about it. I just got mine cut and my beef with all stylists, including this one, is that they blow dry my hair very straight and smooth, and then within 10 minutes it feels staticky and fine and it's too smooth to put into a bun, which is my usual go-to for when I'm unhappy with my hair. Anyway. This stylist blow dries it straight and then puts in beach waves which is somehow worse? I don't know. I just figure the day I get my hair cut will be a bad hair day.
I like that dress a lot!
My friend makes the best air fryer brussels sprouts but she always does mini sprouts, so maybe that's it. Stylist-ignoring-me issues, I think, fall into two main categories: one is the stylist Not Listening (and/or Making a Mistake), and particularly when we're chatting vigorously and she has gone into auto-pilot with my hair and has obviously forgotten what I said about wanting the highlights only in the front, or wanting no more than an inch cut off. The other, I am suspecting, is actually a Stylist Override: she does not want to do it my way, and thinks her way would work better, so she just sort of casually...does it her way. It is nearly impossible to tell the difference between these two categories, and I might be imagining them. But it comes to mind at the times when the stylist seems not to have listened to me but then actually I really like what she did: at those moments I look at her suspiciously with my mind.

Lucy and I will have a Tony Fan Club.Swistlehttp://www.swistle.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2102491209284064200.post-7187925624019036552024-03-13T18:30:31.009-07:002024-03-13T18:30:31.009-07:00Your hair is super cute (and the dress!) but ARGH ...Your hair is super cute (and the dress!) but ARGH a stylist who stops listening is the worst.

Those notecards are so pretty!
