We have all the small girls -- my Leah is probably the tallest, but is built like a walking stick. But can they play! I am so surprised that they keep attacking every game with such good spirits, seeing as not only have they not one a game yet, they haven't been able to score a single goal. They are an inspiration. At least we don't have an ice cream truck to deal with too.alisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16483907412532940799noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2102491209284064200.post-23557031152213993102011-06-22T07:07:30.546-07:002011-06-22T07:07:30.546-07:00WTG Eve!.. They flub a play and learn a lesson. The helmet abuse -- yay, I can get behind correcting that one.

*sigh* I just do NOT get organized sports. But buying an ice cream treat for your kid? Most of the time she reads them, but usually it's after breakfast the next morning, while we're yelling, "hurry up and read it, then get your shoes on or you'll miss the bus!" I confess that if we're really running late, I just have her glance at the pictures and then sign the sheet anyway. For some reason it seems to matter to me that she at least glances at the pictures. Which means that years from now, I'll still be saying the exact same things as I do now. Yay!

I feel a little bad for the coaches who can't pitch. Do you think they know? If I was a coach, I'd be dying of embarrassment every time I had to pitch and show off my terrible throwing skills (I received a N for Needs Improvement for throwing in Gym as a kid). The last time I pitched a game, the batter hit the ball directly into my face, which was possibly as painful as it was embarrassing.Marilyn (A Lot of Loves)https://www.blogger.com/profile/06657908406859803924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2102491209284064200.post-14344481172661490152011-06-21T10:19:49.487-07:002011-06-21T10:19:49.487-07:00Wow, she's the only girl? She's awesome! ...Wow, she's the only girl? She's awesome! But can I just say - sports suck. I almost froze to death on the soccer field this weekend. Can't my kids just be mathletes? Wait, they kind of are.

I will tell you this: I was on a slo-pitch team for two years in uni, and that was because I was in economics and there were almost no women and the slo-pitch rule was three women on the field at all times. I was the worst player on the team, by far. BY FAR. But our team actually won the championships one year and that was the game that I caught the ball. The one time in two years that I caught a ball. My whole team cheered and luckily it was a third out because I had no idea what to do with the ball once I caught it.

Oh! And one year I took a line drive to the throat and ended up in the ER. Luckily it was just a bruised voicebox and not a collapsed windpipe, as they feared. NOT ATHLETIC ME.Nicolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15212465957211363245noreply@blogger.com
